I liked this and always enjoy your posts. But ..... just checking, is it deeply meaningful and symbolic that there's no number 8? I couldn't decide!
Looking forward to your new book.

Hi Florence,
I'll be happy to comment but first I need a little more information from you. I am not clear from what you wrote as to exactly what the problem is you want to tackle. Is the person who has made the accusation still off sick? Are they returning soon? What would you like to have happen?
Send some more info and I'll respond as best I can.

Regards

Barry.

Thank for your comment Irene. I really value the feedback and it's reassuring to know that what I put on the website is useful. Also, I'm glad to hear that you are over your difficult times. With the work situation, as you know, I tend to promote the idea that we can change things, but it is worth remembering that not all work situations are amenable change for various reasons, or that bringing about that change would exceed the resources of one individual. Sometimes we have to accept this and move on. The failure is theirs, not ours. Best wishes.

Very interesting afternoon but I wished my friend, another HIFF member, could have been there. She is a counsellor and what we learnt would have been more USEFUL to her than me. Hopefully we shall BOTH be at your next session.

Thank you for confirming my point, Adrian. Some employers seem to want to avoid talking about bullying in their organisations, perhaps because they fear that if they do, it will give permission to people to raise all sorts of complaints the organisation cannot then cope with. I believe the opposite is true; when staff and managers are given clear information, via training for example, spurious complaints decrease and the genuine ones are identified.
