Resilience and Personal Performance

Resilience refers to the robustness in individuals, teams and organisations that enables them to perform consistently in times of unexpected or high demand. The ability to ‘bounce back’ ensures continuity and give a critical strategic advantage to the business, but also helps protects the individuals it employs. Organisational resilience starts with and relies on the robustness of every member of staff. Resilient organisations demonstrate high employee morale, respect for the individual, and employee involvement at all levels. People feel more empowered and included, they are better at problem-solving, are more creative and they tolerate the uncertainty of change better.

Improving resiliency is within the reach of any organisation prepared to take the first few steps in that direction. As part of such an initiative, this one-day workshop enables participants to understand personal resourcefulness, introduces them to notions of resiliency and provides them with an approach and practical exercises with which to develop greater personal psychological and emotional resiliency.

This is particularly appropriate to public sector  managers who, working between the dual imperatives of organisational demand and support for their staff, can overlook their own needs. Encouraging good self-care and reflective practices leads to better self management, resourcefulness and productivity.

Most people are more resilient than they realise. This workshop enables attendees to identify their preferred coping strategies, and develop the positive characteristics associated with personal resilience.
