Most of us feel under-skilled when confronted with conflict and disputes, disagreements can drag on longer than they need, and frequently escalate to cause more serious problems. This workshop provides a structure to help participants identify and strenghthen their conflict resolution abilities, so that they can intervene sooner and more productively, before the dispute affects morale, performance and wellbeing. This workshop provides a structure for thinking and actions around conflict, and guidance on how to deal with the difficult emotional reactions that occur during disputes. More…

Developing Professional Artistry, Summer 2010 (with Macarena Mata)
How do you, as a professional, keep on top form for the benefit of both your clients and yourself? Developing professional competency means we understand the theories and skills our practice is built on, but developing the full ‘artistry’ of which we are capable requires vision, a love of your work, and commitment. Suitable for counsellors, mediators, social workers and anyone in the helping professions.
Based on the presenters’ practice and research, this inspiring CPD one-day workshop will help you achieve this. It will take you through some innovative and inspiring exercises and discussions to help you re-discover your key strengths and, building on your core values as a practitioner, you will develop a practical programme to enable you to continually grow and aspire to artistry. The two presenters work intuitively together as they model reflection in action to unserscore and consolidate the learning points of the day. Involving lectures, discussion and group exercises for skills enhancement. Supporting course notes and further exercises are provided, as well as a reading list of recommended books. Summer 2010.
