success, satisfaction

There is a tension between satisfaction and ambition (or desire, if you like); the space between them has the potential to spur us on, or to addle our motivation.

Too little satisfaction and we can be snared by all sorts of undesirables, of which unhappiness and dissatisfaction are the ringleaders.

At the other end of this imaginary continuum, too much satisfaction can lead to complacency and lack of drive. Contentment is a safe option that robs us of the energy to strive  for more, or to question what ‘is’.

The aim is to get the balance right; be satisfied with what you have, but make sure it’s not enough. Ambitions and goals are useful, but they are best tempered by composure and acceptance of the moment.

I’m a psychologist, coach, and therapist. All my work is aimed at enabling people to improve personal aspects of their lives and work.
