Most people seem to be rushing about. Some seem to think that being busy is a badge of honour; they can wait to tell others just how busy they are. This is a personal choice, but it can be unwise because it is counter-productive.
Getting a lot done is not the same as being busy. Showing off about being busy does not mean getting a lot done. A colleague once told me that whenever they were about to describe themselves as ‘busy’ or ‘too busy’, they would replace the word ‘busy’ with ‘neurotic’. “That generally get’s me out of that rut and focuses me more productively”, he said.
