Change is constant, they say. So it’s unavoidable and also necessary, but often unwelcome. It was Heraclitus, the Greek philosopher, who first recorded the idea that it is the ONLY constant, and if ever you need proof that nothing has changed in the change department, he’s worth a read (for an easy start try Expect the Unexpected or You Won’t Find it, by Roger van Oech)
