In the minds of many senior executives bullying and harassment are problems that exist in other organisations but not their own. If they think about it at all, such matters are the province of the HR department. This being so, only rarely do they reach the ears of top management and never the boardroom agenda.
Difficult people at work? We all know they exist, and mostly we work round them. But this general epithet 'difficult person' hides deep roots that are sometimes difficult to deal with. Eberybody has to rub along together at work, right? After all, most of us work in teams and being a team-player is understood to be a tstandard requirement...right? Well, of course not.
Learning to be a bit more comfortable with uncertainty is something that would benefit us all. Learning greater tolerance for uncertainty is not difficult, but developing anything new in ourselves it needs commitment and regular practice.
