Emotional Couch Potatoes

The couch (as in analyst's couch), has a long association with thoughts and feelings, but too long on the couch can make us sluggish and lethargic. The way out of this is to take some exercise. Mental exercise has many parallels with its physical counterpart. For example; we improve with practice, and most of us don't do enough of it.
