Don't Call Me Crazy

“Once you become comfortable being a mad person, you can just get on with your life.”

In this short video about language and mental health David Crepaz-Keay talks about being mad. The headline-grabber is his ‘unique perspective on mental health’, (though he explains that it’s not unique at all, there are others he says who share his views).

More subtle, and infinitely more profound, are his comments about his identity and how acceptance of his identity has freed him.

David Crepaz Keay is Head of Empowerment and Social Inclusion at the Mental Health Foundation and works to develop, deliver and evaluate things like service user involvement, carer involvement, peer support and self-management training.
