Open mind good – closed mind bad; it is implied if not actually said. The trouble is that even when the mind is open there is a sort of glass door just behind the opening that filters what comes in. It's no good having and open mind if it is only 'open' to what yo want to hear.
It's the job of emotions to push us to act, and they have a logic of their own. But it's a false logic and not to be trusted.
"Guilt is a largely redundant emotion". There, I've said it, and I don't feel to bad about it actually. If it turns out I've done something wrong I can always apologise and make amends, in the meantime I'm letting guilt go, I can always worry about it later.
