Each year at this time I think about what's going to be improved on, changed or abandoned in how I approach my life and my work (same thing, for me). How about you?
You can’t put your heart into something if you feel that you never have time. Practicing patience can help to counter the sense that things are speeding up, or that we are losing control. What would you do if you had 12 hours to spare?
As we go about our business and the business of life we are expected to act. We behave as though our value to ourselves and others is based entirely on what we do or what we produce, rather than who we are. Some people are constantly saying how busy they are and how there is no time for this-and-that. The paradox is, the less time you think you have the more we can benefit from making space for contemplation.
We are lazy thinkers, we people. We categorise things for effiecincy, but it's all to easy to conduse the category with the thing. Take beliefs for example, we all have them, but that doesn't mean we are them.
