Time is not a commodity, it is not something we can pick up, contain, weigh, or manage even. Yet we treat it as if it is, by quantifying it. How many times have I heard "I don't have enough time"? How many times have I said it myself?!
We are living in what is probably the richest period ...
If you ever find yourself going round in circles there are ways to break the pattern and re-start the creative process. But you won't do it by just thinking about , here are some things to DO.
It's hard to ignore depression, just as it's hard to ignore the loudest voice in the room.
People are pre-occupied their own self-image for good reason; self-awareness and insight are the cornerstones of social acceptability. Privately though it's another matter and we often have a distorted image of ourselves. But as self-image is a private affair, does it matter?
We filter information because we couldn’t possibly take in and process everything our senses can pick up, that is as it should be. Most of the time going along with our expectations will be fine, but sometimes, particularly when an unwanted situation keeps occurring or a solution evades us, the problem is in our thinking. We are seeing what we assume will happen rather than what is actually happening. Expect the unexpected or you'll miss opportunities.
We are adept at creatively obstructing ourselves in so may things we claim we'd like to do. The truth is (pause for dramatic effect by pointing out that lots of people are seeking the truth), you can start it today and complete it sometime later. You might even complete it today if you are very quick. It's all a question of the steps you take. It's not about 'being creative'.
Some days its important to stop, and to think about those who helped make us what we are.
Sharing things that give you pleasure is generous and it's good to be magnanimous, but be careful not to over-share.
