And I DON'T mean the current political shenanigans in the UK. I'm referring to the way we are manipulated, by the media, factionalism, and our own tendency to like nice, clean answers.
Meeting bad behaviour with tolerance and understanding is one thing, making excuses so we don't have to deal with it another. In some cases we are wiser and kinder to excuse someone who treats us badly, but sometimes it is just and excuse to protect ourselves.

Our language is littered with gardening metaphors. I suppose that's because we have been in contact with the earth throughout human history and that connection has shaped many of our expressions. It has also given us an innate understanding of how to help things grow and flourish in all areas of our lives, and the things that need weeding out if our relationships are to continue to provide nourishment and beauty year after year.
Much or our behaviour, and our thinking too, is guided by out of date information. Life is about opportunity, and there's nothing in the small print that says we 'should' or 'should not'.
Friday is a time to reflect on how your efforts are benefiting others. You probably don't seek a reward or expect thanks, but you can acknowledge your own good intentions and positive efforts throughout the week. Well done!
